Welcome to NGO / Missionary Travel Awareness

This course has been designed for NGO workers, missionary teams, outreach groups, and field-based personnel who may be operating in unfamiliar, low-infrastructure, or higher-risk environments across Africa. Whether you are preparing for a short outreach visit, a longer field assignment, community engagement work, or remote travel in support of your mission, this course is here to help you move with greater awareness, stronger preparation, and better judgment.

The purpose of this training is not to create fear. It is to build practical readiness.

Working in the field often involves more than just reaching a destination. It includes road travel, community interaction, cultural sensitivity, health discipline, communications planning, team accountability, and the ability to make sound decisions when conditions change. In many contexts, the real risks are not always dramatic at first. They often build through weak planning, fatigue, routine, poor communication, overconfidence, or a lack of understanding of the local environment.

This course will help you think more clearly about those realities and prepare more effectively for them.

Our goal is simple: to help you serve well, move wisely, protect your team, and reduce preventable risk without losing sight of your purpose, values, or professionalism

Who the course is designed for

What the learner will be able to do after completing the course

  • reduce preventable exposure
  • work respectfully in communities
  • use drivers, guides, and fixers well
  • make better decisions when the environment changes

By the end of the course, learners should be able to:
